Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati is in the news every other day and now there is a rumour doing the rounds that the film will release in December 2018 and not December 2017 as scheduled. While Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor have given the director a chunk of dates, with SLB’s attention to detail and pursuit of perfection, punters are wondering if the film will be ready in December next year. However, an industry source plays down this rumour by saying, “This is highly improbable. The film will release next year. How can Deepika not have a release in 2017? This is all speculation.”
We agree too… However, Bhansali had planned to take the film to the Cannes film festival in 2017, but now that doesn’t seem possible. Padmavati is yet to take off and we hear that even though the first set of the movie is ready at Mehboob Studios, Bandra (Mumbai), the makers haven’t decided when they will start shooting. While we don’t know what is going on in the background, looks like some intricate and pressing discussions are going on before Padmavati takes off…
Reportedly, Ranveer Singh was really angry that Sanjay Leela Bhansali promised Shahid Kapoor a meatier role and a big pay cheque. Ranveer wants Shahid to be billed as special appearance in the film and the former even wants a bigger pay cheque. Will SLB agree?? Well time will only tell..
In the meantime, we hear that Padmavati will begin with a dance number featuring Deepika. The actress has already started training and will shot in the queen’s Water Palace set from the Chittorgarh fort that has been recreated in Mumbai. The sequence will be a Rajasthani style dance – ghoomar. Our source also told us that we will see the interiors of a big palace in the song. The full interior will be white and the whole set has already been built. After a few scenes and a song, the Padmavati shoot will move to the actual set that will be constructed in the Goregoan Film city, Mumbai.
We hear that Ranveer and Deepika will start shooting soon, but there is no date or time fixed yet. Shahid Kapoor, on the other hand, is spending time with newborn daughter Misha and wife Mira Rajput. All three of them have been spotted entering and leaving Bhansali’s office on various occasions over the past few days. Will team Padmavati finally be able to sort out everything and start shooting? Let’s wait and watch…
